News release: Data interconnect company InterOptic welcomes new executive leadership: CEO Brian McConnell and Vice President of federal markets Britt Mowery

InterOptic LOGO Chicago, IL – October 16, 2018 – InterOptic, a data interconnect company that helps Fortune 1000 companies and government institutions manage bandwidth, interoperability, and complexity in their IT networks, today welcomes Brian McConnell as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Britt Mowery as Vice President of Federal Markets. InterOptic offers a range of data interconnect solutions – from affordable, name-brand-equivalent fiber optics hardware to U.S.-based, compliant platform coding – to meet the needs of today’s most complex, mission-critical IT networks.

McConnell brings over two decades of experience introducing new technologies and solutions to the IT industry and a track record of success in scaling teams and transitioning businesses into high-growth mode. Mowery brings more than 15 years of experience in providing IT and data management solutions to federal government agencies.

“I’ve helped many companies develop new strategies, improve processes, and build teams to drive rapid growth, and I’m excited to leverage that experience at InterOptic,” said McConnell. “The highly skilled team here is perfectly suited for supporting our clients’ networking needs – helping them deploy and service their optics networks and data centers. InterOptic’s reliable but affordable data interconnect solutions have made us a trusted partner to many enterprise and government organizations.”

Because of its work with the U.S. Department of Defense, InterOptic understands the government sector’s prioritization of reliable IT networks and data interconnect technology. Government entities need more affordable options that work not only the same, but better, than name-brand original equipment manufacturer (OEM) equivalents.

Prior to InterOptic, McConnell was Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Optulink, where he developed technologies that optimize mobile voice and data for global wireless networks. Before Optulink, he was Vice President of Marketing and General Manager of a $300+ million division of Tellabs, where he introduced significant cost efficiency solutions for telecommunication service providers worldwide.

Mowery has a long track record of implementing optics solutions for Defense, Intelligence and Civilian Government Agencies. Most recently, he was Director of Federal Sales at TechTrend, where he focused on growing the company’s technology solutions practice. Before TechTrend, he was a Federal Account Executive at FishNet Security, where he worked with the Department of Defense to install information security solutions. Mowery has also worked as a Product and Security Operations Manager at Sprint.
