Brian McConnell

President and CEO Brian McConnell is a technology and marketing executive and entrepreneur. He develops emerging technologies and solutions for high-growth industries. 

As Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer for start-up Optulink, he led development of Software as a Service (SaaS) optimization solutions, algorithms and associated patents. These solutions optimize mobile voice and data in 4G and 5G networks.

Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager of a $300+ million division of Tellabs (now Coriant). He led marketing and R&D to identify new mobile product strategies, grow revenues, improve profitability and focus product management. 

The division captured more than a 50% share in highly competitive markets. It developed a new 4G mobile packet gateway, Remote Optical Add Drop Multiplexing (ROADM), voice-quality enhancement, and cross-connect solutions. He built R&D teams in low-cost geographies, launch new IP gateway solutions in less than a year and reduced costs 60%.

As Vice President of Marketing for transport solutions at Tellabs, he led global marketing, product management and sales support for product lines that generated $700 million in annual revenue. He developed product strategy and led marketing and technical sales. The successful launch of new Remote Optical Add Drop Multiplexing (ROADM) solutions for fiber transport generated $300 million in its first two years.

He extended the lifecycle of a product that generated more than $7 billion in cumulative revenue. He participated in M&A activities, analyzed markets and technology for 6 potential acquisitions, and led integration of acquired companies.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Illinois. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
